Few Speak Up for Palestinians in U.S. Congress

Many voices around the world speak up for the Palestinians, but few in the U.S. Congress. The few who do often include lawmakers of Arab-American descent or from Arab-American communities, and mavericks such as Democrat Dennis Kucinich of Ohio and Republican Ron Paul of Texas. Kucinich, who sought the Democratic presidential nomination last year, charged that the United States was ignoring the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza while facilitating Israel's actions with arms deals worth billions. Washington "sniffs at the slaughter of innocents in Gaza," he said. "U.S. tax dollars, U.S. jets and U.S. helicopters provided to Israel are enabling the slaughter in Gaza."

  1. #1    I don't see Kucinich as a maverick. I see him as a real centrist.

  3. #3    No surprise, the Palestinians' resources have been stolen and destroyed; they are poor brown folk. Since when does anyone in Congress speak up for the rights of poor brown Arabic-speaking folks? They don't have millions of dollars to bribe, I mean lobby Congress, do they?

  4. #4    Yesterday the Senate "spoke up," as expected, by UNANIMOUS consent, and adopted Reid's hideous resolution (S Res 10) justifying the ongoing massacre in Gaza in support of the worst of the worst in Israel's far-right wing. 31 co-sponsors, zero objections.
So...tell me again, what's the magic number of Dem Senators needed to prevent such abominations? 60? 100? How would that change their proclivities for unanimously supporting crimes again st humanity?

  5. #5    I hate to keep reating this, however this evidence supports the main claims of Walt and Mearsheimer, again! Obama smeared them (without attempting to offer evidence to contradict their claims) at an AIPAC meeting last year, remember?
