Homophobe to Deliver Inauguration Invocation, So When Will the White Supremacist Speak?

Obama's spokesperson says inviting homophobe preacher Rick Warren to give the invocation at the inauguration shows that the ceremony will be "open" and "inclusive." Since no other anti-minority leaders are speaking, it's hard to see how including Warren -- who has admitted that the main difference between himself and the virulent homophobe James Dobson is a matter of tone -- is anything but an endorsement of Warren's anti-gay agenda.

  1. #1    Somehow when Obama was giving that trademark "change we need" I didn't think it would be us doing the changing. I guess it depends on what your definition of "change" is.

I said from day one that I thought Obama was reTHUGlican lite. I was wrong. He is much worse.

  2. #2    Besides the gay issue, who the hell nominated Rick Warren as the spokesperson for Christians?? He's no pope, he only wrote a best-selling book! The right thing to do would have been for Obama to mend the fences with Rev. Wright and allow him to give the invocation. Obama won the election, and the religious right know Obama's not in their court.
