Bush Administration Presides Over Largest Redistribution of Wealth in History

From taxpayers’ wallets into the coffers of Wall Street firms, the Bush Administration has presided over the largest redistribution of wealth in American history. $2.9 trillion has already been committed and it looks like more government bailouts are still being contemplated.

  1. #1    Supposedly these are the economic movers and shakers. Bush likes to think a little pain energizes people and makes them creative. So I guess the GOP is punishing us, the rabble, by essentially doping into lethargy the very people we need to get lean and hungry. Once again a Harvard MBA proves its worth.

  2. #2    Bush has been accelerating his destruction of the framework of this country as his unitary executive administration HOPEFULLY sees its final days. The rich and well connected have been and are being rewarded excessively. Humanity, the US image, and the planet (environmental steamrolling) have suffered at the hands of the Bush fratboy irresponsibility. The planet would be better served with he and his cronies locked in cages and having fruits and vegetables thrown at them. Bush is the little boy who breaks everything he touches and deserves to be treated as such.

  3. #3    These people are just discovering this? A few years ago THE ECONOMIST, hardly a left-wing rag, wrote that the Bush tax policies were having the (intended) effect of transferring unprecedented wealth "upward", and would inevitably result in "copper-fastening" (a beloved Brit idiom) in place a rigid class system. This has come to pass. We are now behind almost every other industrial democracy in upward mobility. This country, which was founded in opposition to European style class systems, now has a more European style class system than any European country. Doesn't it make you proud?

  4. #4    "largest redistribution of wealth" What a quaint mild term for the largest ongoing plunder, theft, looting in the history of the world - Most of was illegal and carried the penalty of law before "along came the Bush CRIME Family" encouraging criminals to take what ever they wanted without consequence just as long as they riped the survival safety net out from underneath the rest of us - mostly proving that we are too dumb, too timid, too polite to be allowed to survive - we outnumber them 10's of millions to one, and still we just lie down and die for their greed, or just bitch and complain until we don't have energy for even that anymore.

  9. #9    It was all by design, Bush's payoff to his 'base' of corporate sponsors.

This is the same gang of fascists who backed R. Reagan and it was Reagan who kicked off the TRANSFER, THE RE-DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH upward to an elite one percent with his infamous tax cut of 1882. It was the GOP PAYOFF to the base.

Let's be fair. This is not the work of Bush ALONE. The trend BEGAN in 1982 and continued UNABATED until Clinton's second term. It was reversed briefly in Clinton's second term but there was too little time to undo the harms already done by Herrs Reagan and Bush.

It was left to the idiot psychopathic war criminal and terrorist to complete the job.

  10. #10    All the crying in the world will not help us now ,Th right wing NEO-CONS and the Evangelic right would not let up until they got GEORGE W. back in for a second term even though it was already very evident after his first term ,they had the USA on the wrong track. This Administration has done so much damage to the USA, there just may be no help at this point.
