Since it invaded Iraq in 2003, the U.S. has detained thousands of juveniles---some of whom were tortured and sexually abused, according to published reports. Figures of the number of children behind bars vary. Some estimates put the number as high as 6,000. While the criminal abuse of male prisoners at Abu Ghraib is well known, child and women prisoners held there have also been tortured and raped, according to Neil Mackay of Glasgow’s “Sunday Herald.” Abu Ghraib prison is located about 20 miles west of Baghdad. Iraqi lawyer Sahar Yasiri, representing the Federation of Prisoners and Political Prisoners, said in a published interview there are more than 400,000 detainees in Iraq being held in 36 prisons and camps and that 95 percent of the 10,000 women among them have been raped. Children, he said, “suffer from torture, rape, (and) starvation” and do not know why they have been arrested. He added the children have been victims of “random” arrests “not based on any legal text.”

Pro-life loves torture, illegal wars, illegally imprisioning people just because, calling anyone they disagree with traitors, firing people because they heard a rumor they were gay, not firing fellow reTHUGlicans when caught in airport bathrooms trying to have gay sex....sodomizing kids, abusing kids... the list is long and ugly, and all brought about by "pro-life" zealots.

  3. #3    This is the legacy of buSh/cheNey anti human policies. These people are the most VILE disgusting people on the planet. THEY NEED TO BE HUNG BY THE NECK UNTIL DEAD!!!! The predatory treatment of fellow human beings and even worse children are the direct result of orders from the White House. They have turned Iraq into a lawless state of debauchery. These children ARE going to become adults. They will have an understandable hatred of America that will permeate even further throughout the world. We must hold EACH AND EVERYONE of these disgusting, less than dirt in the gutter vermin, accountable for these horrible on going crimes. We as a Nation and a people, will never be excepted in the world if we let this go as just a "lapse in judgment" as the pendants call it. WHY IS THIS STILL GOING ON?!!
