Smile, Though Your Head Is Aching

"We have to make responsible decisions in the Congress that are not driven by the dissatisfaction of anybody who wants the war to end tomorrow," Pelosi told the gathering at the Sofitel, arranged by the Christian Science Monitor. Though crediting activists for their "passion," Pelosi called it "a waste of time" for them to target Democrats. "They are advocates," she said. "We are leaders." Note: Sounds like Bush, doesn't it? We are the DECIDERS!! The people can go to hell!

  1. #1    Another quote, "Pelosi admitted no mistakes and claimed no regrets as she reflected on her first session in the speaker's chair. "I'm very proud of the work of this Congress," she declared. Evidently so: She repeated how "proud" she was nine times. Passing the recommendations of the 9/11 commission made her "very proud," while energy legislation made her "very, very proud," and new ethics rules made her "especially proud." end quote.

    Are we delusional or what?

  2. #2    Pelosi can go to hell. If Cindy Sheehan won't mount a serious campaign against her, someone else should. Then we might get stuck with Steny Ho_er, but you gotta start somewhere.

  4. #4    Well Ms. Pelosi,

You can go straight to hell. You are not a leader. A leader considers what is best for and what is suggested by "We The People". So, no ms. pelosi, you sir are no leader.

It would seem also Ms. pelosi, that you are no longer in favor of free speech, since it gives you pause when it inconveniences you, and you cavalierly show your disregard for the "poor", stating that they should be arrested for being near your home. Again sir, go straight to hell.

And Ms. pelosi if you do not intend to serve your constitutents you no longer are needed. If someone in the private sector did not perform their duties as they should, they would be dismissed. So...

  5. #5    Since when is it a responsible decision to fund the slaughter of innocent people in a criminal war? These "leaders" of ours are war criminals and members of an aristocracy of moneyed power, political affiliation notwithstanding. They have nothing but disdain for the laws they are sworn to support and defend. It really is time to grab the pitchforks and torches.

  6. #6    Congress critters would do well to remember that they are representatives, not leaders. This even goes for those in party leadership.

  7. #7    She needs to be voted OUT of office - this woman has no clue and is not paying attention to what we, the people, who ELECTED her, can elect her right back out. Saying impeachment is off the table, she has not done what her constituents asked for - she has to GO......she has NOTHING to be proud of - she should be ashamed!

  8. #8    This really is infuriating. When it comes to the truly significant issues of the day, namely war and peace, there are no differences between R and D. There is no profitability in peace, we cannot sell our munitions and detonate our bombs in a peaceful world. Ergo, this sort of fuc*ery. I'm oh so close to done with this once great nation.

  9. #9    I get tired of hearing these people refer to themselves as leaders. I DON'T WANT A LEADER!!!

I want a representative. And I want a press corps who reminds these representatives that that is exactly what they are supposed to do...represent the people who hired them to speak on their behalf.

Any politician who tours "strong leadership" and any constituent who admires that is missing the point about our system of government.

  10. #10    This is truely a sad day for labor, the middle class and our valued New Deal programs. There is only one party in Amerika; fascist corporationism. Check out economyincrisis.org for a full run down on what US companies have been sold and to whom under this "disaster economy" since the 1980's. Of course Nancy doesn't care since she, and many other, are part of the problem. With the exceptions of a few compassionate representatives, all are profiting from the selling of America.

  11. #11    If they were standing in front of any regular person's house with an "Impeach Bush" shirt, they would also be arrested for loitering. Maybe we should protest by falling asleep on Nancy's sidewalk.

  14. #14    "Well, the Kucinich Kult told his followers to get in line and promote his latest fake news propaganda, then chided the follower who protested the cheesy stunt with a "get it?""

Well, from all the Blogs and forums, Kucinich's faux-FOX attempt was, shall we say nicely, very poorly received. The there appears to be a large population of people who are tired of thinly veiled propaganda, however well intentioned or not, dressed up as news programs. So, you think that it's okay to spank DK, the chair of one minor subcommitte, for being a gadfly, but dismiss the outrage on the continued betrayal by the most powerful member of the House and second (after Cheney) in line for t...

Very sad...one could just replace the word Leader with the word "ruler".

  18. #18    The Democrats are a disgrace. They have behaved as heartless traitors. They have reneged on any expectation of decency and humanity. To think that after Nov. 2006, many like myself sent e-mails to Pelosi imploring the new Congress to impeach and prosecute the mass-murderers occupying the halls of power!

The worst fears of all good people have been realized. I would go as far as to say that Ralph Nader has been vindicated, albeit at great cost to humanity and human civilization. THERE IS LITTLE TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN THE Ds AND THE Rs. They all speak for the ruthless war-machine that symbolizes America, and are shameless whores to the profit-driven corporations. Diane Feinstein, H...
