The story that should bring down the republican party

Adam Lambert (clammyc) nails it: "Election fraud. Gaming the electoral system from the inside. To unfairly favor republicans. Favors and promotions for those who go along. Demotions, firings and blacklisting of those who don't. Nonexistent charges of voter fraud and threats or coercion for these charges to be investigated. Illegal redistricting. Petty lawsuits against the Voting Rights Act. Voter ID laws that border on illegal, if not overtly illegal."

  1. #1    With all due respect, while it "should", if 9/11 can't do it, this won't!

  2. #2    understood, but even 9/11 was "only" the Bush administration, and many still won't believe it because it is still "somewhat" subjective.

This is pervasive within all levels of the entire republican party and its apparatus.

  3. #3    It won't matter a bit. If constitutional issues were a consideration to republican voters or even to the majority of americans, the republican party wouldn't exist anyway. Let's go back to the principles the country was founded on, "we hold these truths to be SELF-EVIDENT, that all men are created equal and they are endowed by their CREATOR with certain UNALIENABLE RIGHTS, and AMONG THESE are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The Christians that are republicans are the worst because here is the destruction of the foundation of their beliefs. If they believe in God, then these rights apply to all men, not just american citizens. So good-bye cheerleading the war, good...

  6. #6    Pussies? No. It is only that the actual difference between Dem and Rep isn't really anywhere as large as the perceived (wishing on a star) difference.

  7. #7    Bloozguy, after this last display with the Bush and this appropriations bill, I am convinced that there is 'no' difference. And that is why they do not put a stop to his antics. When the colors go from black and white to shades of gray (which is what the two parties are now). It is just a matter of time...

  8. #8    Shades of gray nails it on the head. Unfortunately none (or only a very few) of the politicians care what is in our best interest. They care what is in their best interest. But at the end of the day, if a Dem has played all of his cards correctly, then loses an election because of chicanery, we may get some reaction. Some of these Dems may stand up and cry foul. But, if they wait until then, not only will it be too late for them, it will be too late for them to fix the problem.

  10. #10    Representative Arthur Davis (D AL), and Dan Lungren (R CA)spoke on a segment of the PBS "Newshour" Wednesday. Davis, says the issue is not a criminal intent but the service to the American People. Lungren countered with a comment that criminalizing the political process is being attempted.
Bush and his administration need to be reigned in. The Bush My Way or the Highway is the antithesis of a Democracy. Since the first day he has taken the position that HIS WAY IS THE MANDATED WAY and there will be no compromise. Democracy is compromise, one compromise after another giving every faction in the society a piece of the the cake, Bush operates on a "Winner Take All" basis, and the Republicans JUST DON'T GET IT. We all have rights, even the LOOSERS.
