Kucinich: Why is it we have Finite Resources for Health Care but Unlimited Money for War?

Short video and transcript. “The inequities in our economy are piling up: trillions for war, trillions for Wall Street and tens of billions for the insurance companies. Banks and other corporations are sitting on piles of cash of taxpayer’s money while firing workers, cutting pay and denying small businesses money to survive."

  1. #1    This is an easy one. Rich people always have millions for things they love: yachts, weapons, cocaine, prostitutes etc. When giving money to poor people, their pockets are always sewn shut and each time they throw a nickel on the ground, they squeal like pigs that they're going broke.

  2. #2    “Trillions for war and Wall Street, billions for insurance companies… When we were promised change, we weren’t thinking that we give a dollar and get back two cents.”

What change? New boss: similar policies as the old boss. Our party's "leaders" sold their souls to win back the White House and Congress, but they've proven they can't govern or deliver real change we can believe in. Maybe we won't be fooled again.

  3. #3    Let's remember Clinton left that selfish kid, G.W. Bush a half trillion surplus which he quickly squandered by giving huge tax breaks to those who needed it least. Let's remember Bush stampeded a blind Congress into 2 unnecessary wars using cherry picked data and outright lies. Both wars fought on supplementary budgets which means they are debts that some future President will have to worry about paying.
I have one question, where was the media and the Congress in this rush to war? Just think what all that money could have done to health care for us?

  4. #4    Hell, Dennis. It's just a fine American tradition! There's enough excessive profit in health care that it could easily take the place of the military/industrial complex if the government unquestioningly paid the health bills of everybody like they pay $1000 for toilet seats to the war machine. But the military/industrial complex got to the money trough first.

It's an interesting idea though. Let's reverse the roles. Let's take the money we spend on war and funnel it to health care. It will protect us better and guarantee most of us live longer than the war machine. If some Americans want a war, they can pay out of pocket.

  5. #5    As I cannot vote for Kucinich (wrong state, sorry!), I am sending him a monthly donation. Not much, but if everyone joins me, he'll have enough money to run another successful campaign. He's the only one in that crooked government of ours, that just HAS to be re-elected - even if only as a voice of conscience.

I will also donate to anybody running against sellout Pelosi and spineless Reid. At this point, I will even support a repubie, just to get rid of those two political whores. Enough!

  6. #6    Kucinich is the people's congressman. He contiues to get the short end of the stick in the media and is not given the recognition he deserves within his own party.
He would have been and would be a fine POTUS.

  7. #7    You know the seething frustration you feel when watching a congresswhore hearing or someone like Boners boozy bloviating is plastered all over the MSM or C-SPAN? When the lies and inanity and softballing reaches a point when you think a heart attack is imminent so you stop listening? But you conduct a fantasy scenario where you seize control and ask the questions and make the statements that really need to be asked/made? All I can say is: Dennis Kucinich, I want to bear your children! And in the interim, I'll be honored to tote your testicles around in a velvet lined wheelbarrow, because when you speak truth to power like that- you show the world how big your sack must truly be!!! Kucinich is beating the odds that life inside the beltway automatically turns you into a greedy, immoral, elitist, warmongering, lying, thieving degenerate! What's (nearly) everybody elses excuse?
