How Bigots Scapegoat Obama

Hitler scapegoated jews! The American right wing now scapegoats Obama! Why are we surprised? The GOP/right wing is just doing what psychopathic screw-ups and habitual liars always do. They try to find someone else to blame.

I have Palin fatigue already- Joan Walsh

I think the Sarah Palin rehab tour is more about Sarah Palin Inc. than Sarah Palin 2012. She'll rack up the speaking fees, raise some money for red-state, red-meat Republicans, further polarize the party and live the high life she thinks she deserves. Still, even as I dismiss Palin as a serious GOP threat, increasingly I believe that the faux-populism of the right is something to worry about. It may be fun to mock Sarah Palin, but Democrats shouldn't laugh at many of the people who admire her – who see a folksy, new kind of self-made mom trying to fight the bad old Eastern elites.

CONSERVATIVE DOG AND PONY SHOW TO RESUME AT TOWN HALL PROTESTS

Fox News has reported that Republican lawmakers are planning on holding town hall meetings on health care reform for no other reason than to invite protestors to show up and show their rage.

KIMBERLY MUNLEY IMPROVING, CONSERVATIVES ARENT

Kimberly Munley is improving every day but judging by the politicizing of the Fort Hood shootings by conservatives and their fomaing at the mouth commnets to my last column reminding them that it was conservatives 20 years ago who steadfastly opposed equal opportunity for women and opposed women becoming police officers, the prognosis for conservatives is not good.

Bart Stupak: 'There Will Be Hell To Pay' If My Amendment Is Removed

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) is warning fellow Democrats not to mess with his restrictive anti-abortion amendment. .... Now Stupak is saying he won't go easily.

Will Phillips, not the Catholic Church, is a fine moral and ethical example for my son

Will Phillips, just ten years old, is standing up to his school and his peers to protest for the rights and lives of gay and lesbian citizens. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church is throwing a tantrum in DC, threatening to hold back human services and other good works if the DC Council respects gay and lesbian rights. A child shall lead them, eh?

EXTREMIST CONSERVATIVES:THE UGLY AMERICANS

Extremist conservatives, the ones with the Nazi signs and Hitler comparisons who claim to be the "true" Americans actually have more in common with fascism than anything that can be called American

Veteran Gone Wild on Veterans Day

A marine reservist attacks a Greek Orthodox priest in a parking deck with a tire iron, evidently thinking the priest was a terrorist. Now he’s put forth numerous whiney excuses, including that he was attacked first by the sex-crazed priest. I’m betting this guy will be Glenn Beck’s next hero.

Hi, I'm Marty, and I'm a recovering Republican

Every day I wake up with the same thought: "I used to be such a goddamned idiot." I am a former Republican. And I wasn't merely the libertarian, live-and-let-live, fun-at-parties kind of conservative whose primary concern is balancing the budget; I was a spiteful, narrow-minded, fire-breathing paranoid lunatic who questioned the patriotism and morality of my liberal fellow citizens. Recognizing the error of my ways has done wonders for my mental health but left me with constant, unremitting remorse; I really want to go back in time and kick my own ass.

NEW FOCUS GROUP UNMASKS CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE

Frank Luntz, a Republican pollster appeared on Fox News to give the results of his latest focus group, and as one might expect, the clips he showed revealed more conservative ignorance than anything else.

Paranoia Strikes Deep

The point is that the takeover of the Republican Party by the irrational right is no laughing matter. Something unprecedented is happening here — and it’s very bad for America.

KIMBERLY MUNLEY TAKES DOWN CONSERVATIVES TOO

Kimberly Munley has been hailed as a hero for her bravery and abiility in saving lives, returning fire and taking down the shooter during the Fort Hood shooting while being shot herself. So its a good time to remember, while conservatives oppose health care reform, that 20 years ago they opposed giving women like Kimberly Munley the opportunity and the right to do the same jobs as men, because, according to conservatives, women just couldnt do it.

"Family" Member Stupak Says He Can Block Health Care Bill

While Republicans have indicated that they consider the block of antiabortion, pro-life Democrats Stupak leads as their last best chance for sinking the Democrats' health care reform effort, Stupak says his threatened insurgency would be driven simply by his absolute refusal to allow any federal dollars to subsidize abortions under a new health care system. Stupak's position could hardly be better crafted to create an unresolvable impasse and that, in conjunction with his close association with the fundamentalist antidemocratic Washington influence peddling group known as The Family which some accuse of being an unregistered lobby, raises troubling questions.

Drug War Madness:

The commission is to make sweeping recommendations for reform, and is tasked in particular with developing proposals to “restructure our approach to drug policy.”.........Enter unreconstructed drug warrior Sen. Chuck Grassley, who has released the text of an amendment that would ensure the commission not reach any conclusions that threaten 40 years of failure. The commission would be prohibited, thanks to Grassley, from examining any “policies that favor decriminalization of violations of the Controlled Substances Act or the legalization of any controlled substances.”

The Failure of the Republican Extremists on the Right

The result in the NY 23rd, where the candidate of the right wing crazies lost a seat that was reliably Republican for generations, just might signal that the GOP has much bigger troubles than it ever thought. This just might open the way for Palin in 2012, and that’s good for comedy writers and the Dems. Bring on the Pageant walking!

REPUBLICAN RADIO COMMERCIAL LIES ON BEHALF OF NEW NY CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE

In a new radio commercial on behalf of Doug Hoffman, the conservative candidate now endorsed by Republicans after forcing out Dede Scozzafava, the original candidate, Republicans claim that it is proven conservative ideas that have created jobs in the past and its the Democrats who created the unemployment. And of course the news media lets them get away with it.

A faith-based prison is pushed

This tiny town near the Oklahoma-Kansas state line north of Enid may soon own the country's only all-Christian prison, with Christian administrators, employees, counselors and programs. The idea is backed by Wakita's leaders, has some support from state officials, and, its founders believe, is able to pass constitutional muster."If Chicken Little doesn't come to town, we'll be open in 16 months," said Bill Robinson, the founder of Corrections Concepts Inc., a Dallas nonprofit prison ministry that is spearheading the project.A 150-acre site on the edge Wakita has been selected, and an agreement has been reached with Corrections Concepts Inc. to manage the 600-bed prison if and when it is built.

Dede Scozzafava the Republican candidate for New York's 23rd district who was forced to drop out by conservatives because she supported gay rights and is pro choice, gave the conservatives some payback by coming out and endorsing the Democratic candidate, Bill Owens.

Bachmann Calls For Health Care Protest Rally In DC Next Week: ‘We’re Going To Have A Big Party’

The American people realize this is it. Just like that brand new Michael Jackson movie came out, ‘This Is It.’ This is it for freedom. If you believe in liberty, and if you’re rejecting tyranny, this is it. Dr. Mark Levin wrote a seminal book that really swept this country called Liberty and Tyranny. And that’s what this debate is about next week. Liberty and tyranny.
