"...Despite continued assurances from the manufacturer that the system is unhackable, reliable, easy to use, private, and secure, a stream of lawsuits, allegations of voter fraud, and machine failures continue to contradict their statements...." -- Elections should be of, by and for the citizens. Honduras: the farcical agreement is exposed – boycott the elections!

In a very interesting article written by Tomás Andino, one of the leading figures of the Resistance and member of parliament for the left-wing Democratic Unification party (UD), he put it clearly: “The Tegucigalpa agreement, far from being a 'victory', means the surrender of President Zelaya. The agreement has been written on the terms of the empire. It is a pity that Mel swallowed the hook, and authorised the signature of the agreement… The question is that even though he has signed, the empire has made it clear that they will accept 'any decision taken by the Honduran Congress', which means that it is likely that they will not accept the reinstatement before the electoral farce of November 29, to prevent damaging it.”

Dems find hope amid GOP chaos - Clarence Page:

Democrats took it on the chin in this year's off-off-year gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, but the Dems can find a silver lining in the high-profile Democratic victory in a traditionally Republican upstate New York district. The lesson in that contest: National Republican leaders are taking the title for infighting away from the traditionally fractious national Democrats. Here are two more lesson[s] to come out of this year's contests: -- The magical Obamamania that energized young voters, in particular, last year was historic but not easily lent out to other Democrats -- Colorful extremists fire up a party's base and raise a lot of money, but moderate swing voters tend to decide who wins. The GOP's angry tea-party conservatives can raise money and whip up excitement in the discontented Republican base. But when big problems like jobs and the economy are at stake, voters care less about who's right or who's left than with what's going to work.

Jon Stewart Becomes Glenn Beck and NAILS IT!

Not only does Stewart nail the crazy politics, the convoluted logic, the Rube Goldberg chalkboard, the tears, the ticks and the goofy mannerisms, but it is so on the mark that we find ourselves concluding that Howard Beale seems stable compared to Glenn Beck. I am sure the writers and actors over at SNL are kicking themselves in the ass for missing this one.

WHY REPUBLICANS ARE EITHER LYING OR DUMB

Between John Boehner waving the constitution at a tea party rally against health care and believing he was quoting from it when he was quoting the Declaration of Independence, or actor John Ratzenberger calling healthcare reform the product of "Woodstock Democrats whose philosophy comes from overseas", Republicans are finally exposing themselves to one truth that is self-evident - they are either lying or dumb.
