Instead of nutrient dense foods, we are fed empty carbs and hydrogenated proteins and high fructose corn syrup that do nothing more than rot the body and the mind from the inside out.

Instead of clean water, we are fed a fluorinated, chemical laden, pharmaceutical "witches brew" that isn’t fit for washing a car much less human consumption.

Instead of educating our young to compete and prosper in the real world, we allow supposed "teachers" to label them "losers" for performing poorly in a system that in it self is a fucking joke.

Instead of sacrificing our selfish needs for our children’s future, we allow the perverted electronic wonderland that is modern technology raise our kids so we too can have our toys and live as pathetic children.

Instead of accepting some of the responsibility for the “status quo” WE helped create, we look to place blame on everything and everyone else around us. Weakness is rewarded; courage and strength are condemned as “un-patriotic”

The "economy" is but a mere by-product...... a symptom.

The underlying root problem is that humanity's soul is rotting..... Terminal me thinks..... In essence, metaphorically speaking, it will have to die in order to be reborn. There ain’t no simple fix....... diagnosis.......terminal.

Wrap yer head around that shit for a while.

This should be big news. Even while President Obama was saying that he thought a public option was a good idea and encouraging supporters to believe his healthcare plan would include one, he had promised for-profit hospital lobbyists that there would be no public option in the final bill.

That's good news. I generally agree with Dennis on the big picture, it's the details that get hung up. I'm glad he's taking a strategic position, I hope he got some leverage out of it.
What I'd like to hear him announce is that the Deem and Pass is adopting Either a Strong Public Option or Grayson's formula of expanding MediCare in place of the mechanics of the Senate Bill, but that aint bloody likely now is it?

On Keith's show, Howard Fineman said that his sources say that Dennis will vote yes, with the understanding that the bill is a first step that will lead to his idea of a public option, and ultimately to expanded Medicare, single-payer-- he was supposed to have gotten that view from the Big O on the plane ride recently. It certainly is true that it's much more likely to be a first step, than voting "no" - which equals no step at all.

I posted this for those that might agree w/this article. I, personally, had a hard time figuring out McGovern's blathers in this one. At one time he thinks this picture is wrong Yoo being invited to UVA's Academical Village founded by Thomas Jefferson. So, do I. And it definitely appears to me, that someone on high (like WH) high has sanctioned this little PR trip.

Then on the opposite side I see McGovern quoting Faulkner saying: Erstwhile UVA writer-in-residence William Faulkner summed this up nicely, saying:

Some things you must always be unable to bear. Some things you must never stop refusing to bear. Injustice and outrage and dishonor and shame. No matter how young you are or how old you have got. Not for kudos and not for cash, your picture in the paper nor money in the bank, neither. Just refuse to bear them."

And all in-between we hear the torture techniques that Yoo assented to.

Clearly we do not need a PO. I didn't ask for a PO and neither did every American that, initially, put their foot in this health care scam. Universal health care IS NOT INSURANCE health care.

Soooooooooooooooooooo, Kuchinich has been consistent enough for me to agree with him thoroughly AND b/f Dr. Dean had to close his mouth, he, too, was consistent about nixing this INSURANCE-LADEN bill.

Personally, we have some many dogs eating the skins off of Americans, that w/banksters being FIRST; I have a hard time numbering which DOG is the next worse dog.

Clearly we need a Public Option, but to say the Senate bill wouldn't protect against family bankruptcies is to ignore the regulations in it which prevent financial ruin by capping annual cost to a percentage of a family's income and it bans lifetime caps on service, so families don't have to go elsewhere for insurance.

Rep. Kucinich is strongly for helping American families avoid financial ruin and he sees the single-payer plan as the ONLY way. I believe the Senate plan is better than the status quo and Kucinich should go back and look at those provisions.

It isn't easy to go from square one to done in one step. Any experienced politician knows that. That's the only reason to consider the Senate bill. Adding a Public Option would be another great reason to go with it.

Dodd's plan is a restructuring which also adds a few important things. It's not really suited to dealing with the foreclosure problem. That would need to be something separate which asigns duties to (probably) the FDIC & OCC & Federal Reserve (as regulators of state & federal chartered banks under the Dodd reorganization). Note: I'm not sure which agencies would be involved if the Dodd changes don't occur.

However, the CFPA is assigned to watch all consumer finance products and as such would be in place to refer cases of fraud to the DoJ.

It's split duties like this which first encouraged Dodd to write a bill to create one over-arching agency which did everything. But, short of that his bill organizes things well. It's clearly (also) a work in progress.

HR 645 is not getting any press coverage because it's not going anywhere. This bill has been around for a long time. It dies every two years without any action being taken by Congress and then it's re-introduced. Heck, even HR 676 has gotten more traction.

That said, it's not a bad bill. It's basically trying to provide a temporary place for people displaced by Katrina-sized disasters. It's real short so go ahead and read it: http://www.govtrack.us/data/us/bills.text/111/h/h645ih.pdf

When Roland claims that "HR 645 bears a direct relationship to the economic crisis and the likelihood of mass protests across America" he's lying, because this bill has been around for a long time, and there's nothing in it about internment.

Also, to address comment #1, HR 645 has nothing to do with illegal immigrant detention camps. They are real but have nothing to do with HR 645.
